Behind NoteBeat MAGAZINE™

Where Did It All Start?

Hi, I am Louise Joubert.

For 25 years I’ve been creating music lessons that children genuinely enjoy. Every worksheet, story, activity and composition was designed to help them discover the joy of music.

Over time I realised that these ideas deserved to reach more than the children sitting in my own studio. I considered writing a curriculum, but I knew that wasn’t where my heart was. I didn’t want to create another exam resource.

I wanted to create something children would be excited to open. A place where stories, listening, puzzles, history, creativity and music all belonged together.

Then one thought changed everything.

“Maybe... a magazine.”

Then on 14 February 2026, Melody was born — and from that moment, NoteBeat MAGAZINE™ began to take on a life of its own.

🎵 Our Mission

To inspire children to discover the magic of music through creativity, imagination, listening, and play — one adventure at a time.

🌟 Our Vision

To build a generation of young music makers who are curious, confident, and passionate about the world of sound.

Why Screen-Light Learning?

In a world of screens and digital noise, NoteBeat MAGAZINE™ is proudly printed. We believe children learn best when they can touch, draw, colour, and create. Our QR-linked audio experiences bring the best of both worlds — the richness of print with the magic of sound — without the distraction of a screen.

Meet the Editorial Team

Louise Joubert — Editor & Founder

“For more than 25 years, I have shared the joy of music with preschool and primary school children. Along the way, I discovered that children learn best when music is brought to life through stories, imagination, creativity and fun. My love for music, children and storytelling inspired me to create NoteBeat MAGAZINE™ — a musical adventure where learning becomes an exciting journey. My dream is to help children discover the magic of music through adventures, puzzles, activities, listening challenges and creative experiences that make learning meaningful, memorable and fun. I hope every issue inspires young musicians to explore, create, and fall in love with music!”
